From the Archives: Cheez-its & Me
I was looking through some old photographs and came upon this one. It happens to be one of my favorite pictures from when I was a little girl. I'm not even sure where we are in this picture. It looks like we're on some sort of beach, but I have no idea where. On the back of the picture it says "Spring '75", which means that I was 2 years old. The lady next to me is my Grandma Sallie. She lived in Yakima, and so I guess she was visiting us or something because there is definitely NOT any beaches near her house.
Check out my super awesome shoes and patch work pants. So young, and yet, so stylish. Totally awesome. Crazy thing about this is, I actually would love to have that coat my Grandma is wearing, and those sunglasses! Vintage clothes, vintage photo...does that make me vintage? Don't answer that. Those were the days of carefree living...free from style and the confines of pattern coordination.
As you can see, I was eating Cheez-its. This photo is proof that my love for Cheez-its had a very early beginning. After a lifetime of loving them, I have decided its preposterous to try not to eat them anymore. They're practically a part of me.
I'm trying to decide if I look like any of my kids...or rather, if they look like me when I was two. I'm really bad at that. Aside from the fact that they all like Cheez-its, I have a hard time picking out resemblances. What do you think?
Truly, this isn't interesting reading today, but that's just the way I roll. Boring boarding on mildly exciting versus chaos and excessive melodrama. Maybe even vintage.

ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of cheez-its...but I agree that you should not give them up!
Your kiddos definitely look like you!!! I think I may have had some pants just like yours! Or maybe it was my sister since I didn't come along until 1977! My sister would have been 2 in '75 as well.... I did have shoes like that, probably hand me downs! Haha! You are too cute!! I'm not a huge fan of Cheez-its, they're ok. Hey, if you can afford to eat them, then go for it!! :-)
