A Reason to Party!!

We just celebrated Caleb's 14th birthday.   As per the usual post...yes, I feel old...yes, he's getting to be as tall as me...no, he doesn't think he's arrived...yet....and yes, despite what all of you kind people say...I DO look old enough to have a 14 year old!  and a 12 year old and a 9 year old and a 6 year old and a 4 year old and 2 fish, a toad and a praying mantis.  

Just thought I'd share a funny picture from our happy little birthday.  Funny, because you can see all the cheesy kids smiling and then a reflection of Brian and I in the windows behind them.  Everybody is happy.  We all like Caleb.  We're glad he's getting older. 

 He says he'll feed me when I'm old. 

 He says he won't allow me to wear  a moo-moo when I'm old. 

 He is learning to play soccer and improving as time goes on.  

He has a good attitude even though he gets disappointed in himself. 

 He can cook a few things without burning down the house. 

 He cleans the toilet in the upstairs bathroom...

...sometimes he gets to do it twice in one day. 

 He will need a wife with fashion sense. 

 He mows the lawn so Brian doesn't have to do it. 

 He is learning what an ecological biosphere is and he likes it.

  He can look me in the eye.

 He has started singing for church.  

He reads stories to Emily.

  He doesn't like cherry flavored anything...except real cherries, that is.

He's a fun kid and I'm so glad that the Lord has put him in our family. 

 14 years down and many more to go!
