The Old Black Chairs Ain't What They Used to Be!!
| Not the slashed chair, sorry |
Years ago, I was given a set of 4 of these chairs. They're pretty nifty because they fold up and are a bit nicer than metal folding chairs. We've gotten a lot of use out of them and I'm so glad to have them. I've been using one upstairs in my sewing/craft/scrapbooking/guest room at my work table. However, a few years ago a sweet little 2 year old snuck in the room while I was in the bathroom, he then picked up my rotary cutter and set himself to slicing the chair pad a couple of times. When I returned, I found the dirty deed, and thankfully he realized he was going to be in big trouble and put the cutter back before he cut himself! Those things are sharp!!
Any who...fast forward to now and I just realized that I'm getting tired of looking at those slash marks on my chair! After getting inspired by a few DYI blogs, I grabbed my coupons and headed to Jo-Ann's to scope out some upholstery fabric. Rather than choosing just one fabric for all the chairs, I chose 2 coordinating fabrics and did 2 chairs in each fabric. If I just confused you, sorry. I'll show you at the end, don't worry.
It was a pretty simple process to get the job done. Just 5 screws to un-do and the seat just plopped right off! Then I just guess-timated the new size by laying down the seat on the new fabric and cutting about 2 inches extra on each side.
