Back from Vacation Post #2

I realize that we've been back from vacation for over a month, but the way life zooms by these days, its seems like just last week!  Like I said in the previous post, we went back to the same place that we vacationed at last year.  We stayed in a "Majestic Cabin", it was majestic, well, not really "majestic" as the true meaning of the word, but it was very wonderful.  Full of wonder, full of our family of seven, full of yummy food, full of fun memories, and full of beauty all around. Its not an easy challenge to find a cabin to fit our size family.  Most of the cabins (literally 100's) are rated for 2-4 adults, occasionally 6 , advertising their rate ($150-225) for double occupancy, which is only two people!   Then they charge an additional $15-20 per night, per person!!!  That, my friends is a LOT of money!!  (Can you say rip off!!)  Can you imagine? We would have to pay an additional $20 per night, per child!! Whoa!  There's no way!!  However, last year, we were so pleased to find this cabin, which would accommodate all of the children with a bed of their own, minus the littlest.  The kind owners agreed to only charge us for ONE extra child, rather than all five of the kids!  Thank you Lord!

It is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath cabin, with a fold out queen size futon, Hot tub, satellite television, DVD player, microwave, dishwasher, and LAUNDRY FACILITIES!!  Woo hoo!!  I know, I know, no one likes to do laundry on vacation, but with our family...ya, right!  I will not let my kids tromp around in dirty clothes from days ago, I am not that Mom.  Sorry. Outside in the yard, is a nice fire pit.  A month or two before vacation I happened upon these GIGANTIC marshmallows in the grocery store.  They were totally awesome!!  It was like having 2  marshmallows in 1!
S'mores area  necessary part of every outdoor centered vacation, at least for us!

The kids and Brian enjoyed the Hot tub, but I forgot my swimming suit.  That was just fine for me, I just pulled up a comfy rocking chair and watched them splash and play.  One afternoon, while Brian and Caleb were on their canopy tour (see next post), I sat while the younger kids played in the water and actually read a book!!  It was amazing!! I read an entire book!  It was not a study or anything to do with homeschooling, it was just the story of a good family that I'd been wanting to read.  Also, I sat and played with the "extra" settings on my camera, the froo, froo ones that I never use.  Ended up taking this silly picture of myself.  Proof that I really was on vacation.  Of course, you might say "hey, that picture could've been taken anywhere!"  Sorry, but...wrong!!  ONLY on vacation did I have time to sit and play with my camera and take my own picture!!  That never happens at home!! If you look real close, you can see my reflection in my eyes!  ha, ha!!

So now you know what my messed up bangs, no make up look is all about.  Just love that bright light cast against my nose!  Talk about making things look bigger!!  yikes!!
I've got a video of Caleb on the Super Zip, but its taking me a bit of labor to get it ready to post here.  Maybe in a day or two.
