Six Dollars Well Spent

The Slip & Slide... Enemy of Grass, Friend to Mothers

The best $6 I've spent all Summer lies in the grass abating the hot, cranky children.  I love that.  Emily is still not a believer, but Titus has been converted.  Emily is a most formidable cheerleader from the safety of the lawn chairs.  It all works well for me.  They're happy, and that makes me happy.  I can work in my garden while listening to the happy screams and squeals of the children.  It is funny to note that the bigger they are, the harder they fall, or rather, slide, and Caleb has learned that too many slides at top speed makes Jack's tummy muscles sore the next day!  Ha!  The pains of getting older! They've been having a great time with it and despite a little spike in my water bill, it's been sooo worth every penny!

  1. How fun!! Looks like a blast! Not sure if my children have had the pleasure of enjoying one of those yet. I loved them as a kid! My dad always made his own out of visquine (sp?). Sophie doesn't jump right in too? Titus looks adorable. Thanks for sharing!

  3. They look like they're having a blast! We bought one for our kids back in May on pre-summer-sale and I have been anxiously awaiting a weekend hot enough for them to use it...now that it is mid-August I am starting to think we might end up waiting until next summer. It will be hot all week and then the weekend arrives and it's cloudy and not nearly warm enough.
