Our Budding Musicians
For the last 5 years, Caleb and Sophia have been taking piano lessons. It has been so fun to watch how each of them learn in such different ways. Caleb plays the piano while hearing it from within...not that he hears voices or such, but his mind just hears things and puts it together naturally. His greatest struggle is reading the notes and playing things as written. Sophia, on the other hand plays the piano while reading the notes as written and strives to understand how to embellish things based on technique that she's been taught and can read concretely . Both of them are progressing beautifully.
Many of you might have seen these videos when I posted them on Facebook, sorry for the repeat. However, since not all of you frequent Facebook, I decided to put them here also. The first video is Caleb and Sophia playing a duet. They arranged this themselves and had a great time playing together. They're now working on another also.
Give Me Oil in My Lamp
This second video is Caleb, playing an arrangement that he did for his lessons, using the embellishment techniques that he has been learning from his instructor.
