There's Surgery in the Air
Since it's been very cold here in Ohio... the high, 17 degrees today and snow all around, I thought it would be appropriate to do a little play on words. Usually, when it is cold people say "there's snow in the air". However, since I'm going to be having surgery on Monday, my play on words is just as accurate. Maybe you remember that for the past few years I've been having thyroid issues. Then again, maybe not. So, here's a quick recap...
Thyroid enlarged, found by doctor
Biopsy done, came back negative
Praise the Lord
Take some medicine that does nothing.
Stop taking medicine and wait it out.
Enlarged thyroid gets enlarger (I know that's not a word, but it flows better)
Thyroid Ultrasound done, came back negative
Partial thyroid removal needed
Insurance cut...let's wait it out again
Enlargered thyroid gets larger...so large that I look like I swallowed a tennis ball.
Doctor says "time to cut it out"
So, that's what is happening... today. Monday at 7:30 am
They're removing my thyroid.
My parents were here for Christmas (as was my brother) and Mom stayed on to help out with the children after the surgery.
I don't know what else to write about. Guess you'll have to wait until afterward to get all the juicy details...or call Brian. Whatever you like.
