Ten Dollars Well Spent
Thankfully, I can do a good enough job now that I've even cut hair for a few friends. Now, they may not ever ask me again, but I have done it. :)
However, when it comes to cutting Emily's hair (beyond trimming the bangs), there was NO way I was going to attempt to do it myself!
Since Emily is our "active child", I knew that I would need to go another route. (Definition of "active child": never sits down/still unless buckled into car seat, highchair, or stroller. I'm not exaggerating, she really doesn't sit down for more than a few seconds. No joke)
I planned to take her down to the local "chop shop", enlisting the help of Brian. Why? Well, that's because she always acts better when he's around and I also thought that if things got a little hairy then he should be there with me to experience it. (Just like the time she escaped from the kiddy cart in Lowe's after being buckled snugly in the 5 point harness system buckle. Yep, she just did it while we had our backs turned and as we turned around to push she was standing there. "Hi Papa, Hi Mama". what a child she is)
As it turned out, she was captivated by the whole experience and sat perfectly still except for when the lady next to her cackled like incessantly. Finally, our stylist said "It will be great when you leave! " lol, so rude, and yet funny. I was so surprised that she just said that to the lady. But because the cackling woman thought she was kidding she just laughed it off.
Why did I get her hair cut in the first place? Her hair has taken such a long time to grow in longer on the sides.
Here she is outside, after the fact. I know the sides are pulled up, but you'll just have to use your imagination. :)
(Imagine also that the picture looks good because for some reason Blogger is distorting it. )
Awww... she looks adorable! AND... I hate to say this, (truly, I actually do)... but she has far more hair than Keturah!! Waaaaaahhhh. (Me whining) FUNNY thing is, I also just trimmed Keturah's hair this week!! She had the same grown out look as Emily, but hers looks much thinner... it seems like she has Dan's hair so far! Anyway... I had a whole discussion with Dan about what we do... do I lop it all off so it's even with the sides and then let it grow out evenly, or do I just trim the back and sides so that it can be healthier but still have "some" of the length? Dan decided that we would just do the trim for now... since I almost always have her hair up in some way anyway, so wearing it down doesn't matter much. I thought a "bob" would be cute... but I'm happy about Dan's decision... I would hate to feel regret about the bob. I know, it's all so silly... but I only have one daughter... and I know yoiu're a great friend who would understand my babblings! Love ya!
ReplyDeleteActive child! haha.
ReplyDeleteNicholas gets his haircuts from his daddy and it always looks like he's had a precision cut by machete. Poor kid. I will not allow him to touch Hayden's hair & she's been instructed to kick & scream if any attempt is made.
