A Better Picture...
My dear old Dad sent me some info about the mill that stood in these holes here. It's funny, he sent me a link to the same website I originally searched, but I totally missed the information! So, here is a link to the real info ----click here for Mill Info
Thanks, Dad!!
When I mentioned, in my previous post, a place along the Clifton Gorge where a mill previously stood, I included a bad photograph. It was clear to me where it was, but that was because I've been there and seen in first hand. SO, here is a better, more clear photograph of the place where the support beam to the mill once stood.
You will see two square indentations in the rock and that's the spot.
I tried to look up the history of the mill, but aside from the plaque that stand on the lookout off the trail, I can't find a thing!! It just confirms my in my mind that I should take pictures of the signs we read when we go places!! Ha! See!? I knew it!! It would come in handy!!
Don't be alarmed, but you can know that I have come under much ridicule for stopping to take pictures of signs. The ridicule meister will remain anonymous...
Which also brings up the subject of my taking pictures of insignificant things (seemingly) as we go along our way. Don't you do that too?? I do, at least, when I'm taking photos of something and also planning out my scrapbook layout at the same time. I will take pics to use as embellishments or to include in a collage... Am I crazy?? I don't think so. For example, while kids are playing in water along a trail....I take pics of said children together, individually, and I take a picture of the pile of shoes and socks along the side of the water! Now, what's so crazy about that?!! In my mind...NOTHING!! Just ask a scrapbooker and see what they say.... I dare you. really, I do.
oh, I think I just ranted about something that most people don't care about. Sorry. My blog, my rant. :)
Thanks for posting a picture of yourself. You are beautiful.
