A Great Find
I think that every time I go into Babies R Us there is some new gadget or "baby gear" item. Mind you, I don't go in there very often, but still... It's hard to believe that things have changed so much since I had Caleb. Then again, that was 11 years ago! Besides that, I didn't even know what I needed as a new Mom. I thought I knew, but...I didn't. :) The only baby gear item that I had for Caleb, Sophia, and Ethan was a bouncy seat!! lol!
Recently, I had the joy of putting together a Baby Shower for a first time Mommy at our church. I always love doing things like this, and this time was no different. That is why I went to Babies R Us, because she had registered there and we had collected money for a group gift, anyone could chip in for a large item. I got to shop with other people's money!! (Actually, I chipped in too) That is always fun!
Anyway, after I waded through the long list of items that the print out said that they had in stock, but really didn't, and after I got myself under control from being frustrated over the whole ridiculous process... I found something that I wish I had years ago...
It's called a Diaper & Wipes Caddy and here's what it looks like---
On one side it holds a standard box of wipes, and below that is a drawer to keep diaper cream, lotion, bio-hazard gloves, etc. On the other side is a large place to put a good sized stash of diapers and a pocket that hold a good sized changing pad that is lined with very washable plastic.
I wouldn't call it a necessity by any means, especially since I've survived without one through 5 children, but it is a very handy way to keep diapers, wipes, and other diaper changing goodies neat and organized.
Even though Emily is nearing the end of her diaper wearing experience I still went ahead and got one for myself. Aside from the changing pad that comes with it, I have thought of several other things that I can use it for when the diaper days are done. Thankfully, I had a nice coupon for some dollars off because it is an item that is a bit pricey. Maybe this sort of thing is available somewhere else, but I've never seen it. If you do find it somewhere else, hopefully it would be cheaper!! :)
If you're in the market for a baby gift, go and check it out! I had fun buying one and filling it with all the little necessities. I even found a coordinating wipe box for the one I bought as a gift, it was pinks and browns.

Nice. but not so nice that I want to go back to the diaper stage. Nicholas wants me to have another baby. ummmm....no
