A Look Back
It's hard to believe that enough time has gone by that I can already "look back" at Christmas as something in the past! It seems as though we wait and wait and then BLAM-O! it's here and gone, over, a thing of the past! I love the Fall and Winter seasons because they are home to some of my favorite things. I have a serious love for comfort foods and holiday fare, and most of my favorite clothes are from the seasons when I get to layer it on. I guess my mother bundled me too tightly as a baby because I LOVE to be bundled with layers of clothing! (That may explain some other issues I have also)
Today, as I sit in my warm house, while it's 4 degrees outside (or -6 degrees with the windchill) and snow is falling gently outside, I realized that I never posted any pictures of our fantabulous Christmas!! It was such a fun time! We had my
Mom and Dad join us us from Washington state
and my brother
from San Jose, CA. It was the first time that we'd all been together since we moved her to Ohio 4 years ago! My dear little brother came the day after my birthday and stayed until the two days after Christmas. We didn't do anything exciting, mostly just a bit of shopping and playing around with the kids.
Here are some highlights...
The Pajamas that Kyle never wanted.
(Happy Anniversary Dad!!)

I couldn't believe that I actually got the Nintendo DS that I had wanted! I was very surprised! (I never actually told Brian that I wanted one, he found out by reading my Christmas Tag post on this blog!! lol, who knew a blog could come in handy like that. Oh, and have I ever mentioned that I'd like a channel set diamond hoop earrings? )

Kyle and I acting like the dorks that our parent's raised us to be. Obviously, you can tell by the looks on the Sr's faces that they're thrilled with our behavior as they always have been.

Here is everyone, minus me, after a scrumptous breakfast. Delicious breakfast casserole and homemade cinnamon rolls. Makes me hungry just thinkin' about it!
The aftermath of 5 children and 5 adults, a few presents, lots of wrapping paper, and TOO MUCH TAPE, DAD!!!

Wow!! Your Christmas looks AWESOME!!! What GREAT photos! Oh, I'm so happy to see them! I never get to see photos of your house, so that was special...plus photos of you all together, like at the table...I love it! Your Christmas after math photos is so great... make sure to print that one! You guys had one awesome Christmas! I can't believe you got your DS!!!! When you first posted that comment about a DS, I thought... WHAT? Is she for real?! Then I began wondering if they somehow have a game that makes you organize grocery lists and budgeet you monthly income. LOL SO, I have to ask,.. what did you want it for? Just for the fun games? My mother got one for Gabriel and Josiah to share for their birthdays last year... they take very good care of it. I like to play Zoo Tycoon on it when we go for a long car ride. GREAT post!
ReplyDeleteJenny- It's so funny that you were questioning my reason for wanting a DS! LOL! Just about everyone who I've told about getting one has been surprised that I would want one!
ReplyDeleteI've wanted one or something like one for ages, really. I just like the innocent escape it provides. Sometimes I want to do something, but I don't really want to do ANYTHING important. Does that make sense?? I call it my Mama Flake Out Time. I rarely play while the kids are around, unless we're having a game night. AND I don't usually let the kids play it either. I'm so mean. I've kidded Caleb about earning minutes on my DS by doing extra chores, lol, so far, he hasn't asked to do any! :)
My newest game is Blades of Thunder II, a military helicopter game. I am hoping to get another one soon, but can't decide what type yet. I have the Brain Quest one, but that makes me feel dumb as a rock!! lol...new game, please. Just kidding, I do like it, but not when I'm in a vacate my brain mode.
