Em's First Pig Tails

Even though you can't see the pig tails themselves very well, I just had to share these pictures of Emily with some pig tails that I put in tonight. She was on the other side of the room in the rocking chair and for some reason when I got the camera out, she actually stayed in the chair! Her usual routine is to rush me in order to see what ever picture is on my viewfinder. The great thing about these pictures is that they were taken without the flash (my enemy) and in low light. This is the very reason that I LOVE MY NIKON!! It takes excellent low light, no flash pictures!

  1. Ohhhhhhh, very cute! And she has some bangs to go with. I just love little piggy tails. Did I ever teach you how to use the "parting tooth" on a comb for making parts? I can't remember if I showed you that when I was teaching you how to cut hair. I LOVE using the parting tooth to get the parts straight... the hair has to be wet though, or it just flops back over and won't part. Just use the big tooth to "draw" your striaght line in the hair, while separating it with your other hand. Hard to explain... but I hope you get the idea. The trick is mostly to just think of the big tooth as where the hair will part and then drawing the straight line with it. I'll make you a video if this is all too confusing. LOL! I use this technique every day though, on Turah or myself... and every time I cut hair. :) Adorable photos!

  2. I also love pig tails, they're so girly!
Thankfully, I don't need a video to understand because you did teach me the "parting tooth" thing. Which I use alll the time with myself and the girls, AND I usually think about YOU (Jenny)when I use it. lol, though. You can't tell that I used it in the picture of Em's head, but that's because it was just before bed and I didn't even use a real comb to do it!! Now if I could just get Em to keep her head STILL while I'm trying to do her hair!! ...some day. :)
