For the life of me I am having the hardest time taking photos of Emily that aren't blurry. The problem is mostly that SHE MOVES at all the wrong times. Even if she's sitting down, she still seems to barely be able to hold herself still. Granted, she's only a year old, so my expectations are not super high. My next idea was to set things up and try and capture her in her
natural environment. Nice idea. That's about as far as its gone. I can usually get a picture of Sophia and Emily together, if I'm quick enough.
If you've got any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. I'd like to get our Christmas pictures done very soon and I need to figure out what to do to make them successful. What do you think of shooting pics with props and stuff to keep her busy doing something and yet in the right background and lighting that I want for the pictures??
Whadya think? huh? huh?
I would try going outside instead of doing it by the window. Even when very cloudy there is SO much more light outside... that the shutter speed can be a lot higher and still let in enough light. Make sense? See... when you are next to the window, it's just a tad too dark for someone who can't hold perfectly still like a toddler... when it's dark, the shutter has to stay open longer to get the shot, which means the subject must be still. Outside the shutter will move faster, capturing the toddler even if they are moving a little. Well, that's what I would try anyway. You could also try bumping up the ISO a bit, but you compromise noise with that. I'm sure you know all of this, right? I'm sorry if I was redundant.
