I KNOW you're out there
Just between me and you, there are some people, we'll say around 45-ish who are part of a blogging underworld. oooh, sounds serious and maybe a little dangerous, doesn't it? Don't be alarmed, no need to look over your shoulder and feel like you're being watched. There aren't any bad guys just waiting to come and get you! Who are those strange underworld people? They're called Lurkers. What is a Lurker? Well, according to our web friendly online encyclopedia, Wikipedia,
...In Internet culture, a lurker is a person who reads discussions on a message board, newsgroup, chat room, file sharing, blog or other interactive system, but rarely participates.
So you see its nothing really freaky, but yet it is to me because it happens HERE!!
Shock of all shocks!
I'm not looking for compliments AT ALL, just a little feedback. (hate me? tell me, I'd love to know about it!) One of the main reasons that I write this blog is to avoid emailing lots of people. So think of this as an email from me to you, only you come here to read your "mail". If I sent you an email, wouldn't you write me back (okay, I know some of you don't even know about the reply button in email, but), sure you would!! Just like I would if you emailed me! Lots of people use Face book or other sites to "keep in touch" or to "connect". That's what this blog is for also, a connection from us here to you. Except, its usually a one way connection because it rarely makes its way back.
When I first started blogging and reading blogs, I felt intimidated or I "didn't know what to say" in a comment. After reading several well read blogs I started just reading other peoples comments to get an idea about leaving a comment. Now I get it and often receive even more feedback because of something else I said. A comment isn't meant to be poetic or witty, its just your part in this email conversation.
I won't feel dejected or insulted if you keep reading and never surface because truly, I still know you're there. I have my ways of keeping track of things like that, so don't think you're hiding...he,he, he. You can run, but you can't hide!! lol.
I thought it was worth explaining because there are many people who have asked me recently via emails. Again, this was easier than emailing everyone, so shoot me! Maybe its just my laziness that probes me to write this blog rather than spending hours emailing separate letters to others who may not even care? nah. And besides that, if you didn't care you'd delete it when it came, but I know you do want to read this or you wouldn't have taken the step to click your way here! YOU STARTED IT!
So c'mon surface! Admit who you are, you lurker you! Who are you? Why do you visit here? What do you enjoy? What do you not enjoy? Any suggestions?
Some people give prizes away to people who comment. I don't, so don't get too excited.
Now I'm rambling. Must be time for bed. Isn't it always?

Hi there! My name is Jenny and I am NOT a lurker! I make a good effort to comment to all of your posts because I DO see it as a little email! That is EXACTLY how I use my blog too...as an email, often with photos to the many many friends, family and acquaintances we have. If they want to "check" the email, they can. If not, they can later! Or never. But it's there.
ReplyDeleteI think your readers should leave comments more often too... why wouldn't they?! Don't they want to be an encouragement to you, you who went throught the time to show them your family's newest photos and update them on your goings on? I think we should all strive to take time out to be a blessing to others, esp if we came here and went through the time to read the post. We all have the time. Let's be an encouragment!
Also, Karilee, the more comments you leave for others, the more seem to come back. Thank you for always visiting me and commenting!

I appreciate your recent comments that were very kind. I hope to get to know you better and appreciate having a fellow Christian friend out there "somewhere". :-)
