The Boy Party

I knew this would happen!! Caleb turned 11 years old! For whatever reason, his turning 11 has made me feel old! You know if you have and 11 year old then you have to be at least in your 30's, which is where I am, dead center, 35, no turnin' back. But did he have to turn 11?! 11 is so close to 12 and that's almost 13, which is a teenager! That makes me even older! Well, how selfish of me... I start out a post about my son's birthday talking about me! That's the breaks, I birthed him so I can say whatever I want! okay, I'm moving on.

The boy party. Caleb had three friends over for his party. First, Brian took them to play miniature golf (You'll have to use your imagination. I didn't go along, so no pics. Pics are my job). When they all came back we had pizza and the boys played flashlight tag and some spy games outside. The adults were inside doing adult things like talking about how we ate too much, but oh, the cake was good. (It was an icecream cake that I made. I'll have to post the recipe, it's soo easy!) After the adults left, the boys camped out for the night on our deck. They're young so they can do that sort of thing and enjoy it. Just thinking about sleeping on the deck makes my back hurt! In the morning we had a nice big breakfast and then they were off to spend the day playing boy stuff outside. They all seemed to have a great time and since they spent most of their time outside it was a pretty simple party to host.

As usual, there was an unfortunate event that cast a rather dark shadow over the day for me. Titus was a key player in this incident. BUT, since its so late, I don't have time to tell you all about it tonight. It's another cliffhanger. I'll post tomorrow the whole story with the pics to prove it.
