Noise vs. Sound

With 5 children in the home, life can sometimes get a bit stentorious. For some, it is hard to imagine how we make life work with FIVE children. In short, we don't. It's only because of the Lord that we can make it through even one day without lashing out and doing something that would be highlighted on the 11 O'clock news!
Some times when I feel like I just can't make it, I stop and write down a few things about what is going on. Believe it or not, I usually end up laughing about what has happened.
Below are some examples of what I mentioned in my title... Noise vs. Sound. It seems logical that the larger the type the louder the volume.
Noooo! MINE! MINE! MINE! BUBBY!! (NOISE)
SHOSTAKOVICH: Ballet Suites Nos. 1-4 (sound)
Drink Mommy, Drink Mommy, Mommy, DRINK Pweeeez! (NOISE)
The Breathing of a Sleeping Baby (sound)
Wooo, wooo, WOOOOO!! MY Train!! (NOISE)
The Absence of the Cicadas. (sound)
MAMA!! Titus is on the Coffee Table!!! (NOISE)
Sophie reading a story to Ethan (sound)

Even though things sometimes get loud. Even though it seems like there is always 2 children who want me at the SAMETIME. Even though I can't go to the bathroom without someone knocking on the door. Even though Titus keeps knocking until someone answers the door. Even though I could go on for pages like this, I can't imagine life without my children and all of the situations that arise during my day. This is a busy time, and I am often soo tired, but these are the days that will never come again and I wouldn't trade them for anything!

Haha... so fun and funny to read. Yep, I'm right in there with you. Just when you think it's been a sweet day with the children thinking of others and that it's all such a blessing one of those squealing high pitched cries breaks the air, "NOOOOOO, I had that first, MINE!! MINE!!" Pretty much exactly what you said. I have a whole, "Okay, I'm going to the restroom speech" that my kids get. It involves ceonsequences if I hear a raised voice, if I hear chasing and running.(a big one in my house), if there is any kind of argument or fight... etc. And they have gotten to the point that it goes pretty well. There is still the occasional note slipped under the door asking if they can have cheese-its, but it's not too often anymore.
