Pig in a blanket
As a mother I see a lot of things that reallysurpise me. As you grow up and dream about being a mommy, you don't imagine yourself saying "Johnny, please don't sit on Susie's head!" or "Billy, please don't drink the water from the toilet!" Something else I never planned on was the things that would go on at home when the children were left at home with their very responsible adult father. Have you ever gone out somewhere and come home to... "Now honey don't be alarmed when you see Susie, she just has a large bruise on her forehead from bumping her head on the side of the couch. She barely even cried!" or "Guess what Mommy! We ate cereal for Breakfast, lunch AND dinner!!"
In the case of this picture, I never heard anything about it. Papa and the children had all camped out on the fort in the night. I left first thing in the morning to a dr's appt and then grocery shopping. Their normal routine is to come inthe house in the morning and pile all their sleeping bags, blankets, pillows, padding, etc, in the family room so it can be folded up and put away. I can easily handle that. However, Mama gets unhappy seeing the contents of the bedding closet spread out over the floor for much longer than an hour or two.
As usual, it seemed that they followed their routine because when I came home everything was all folded up and put away. Hurray! Fast forward to a couple weeks later when I transfer all the pictures from my camera to the computer. Imagine my surprise when I am expecting to see pictures of my sweet newborn baby and all the siblings holding her and amidst that I happen upon this picture! I don't mind that they did that, but it certainly was a surprise! Another surprise was that none of the children had previously mentioned doing this. Kids are always such spoilers when it comes to secrets. Every family has one that just can't hold it in. We can always count on our Ethan for that! It turns out that Brian was the culprit of this, as if I didn't know! Titus wasn't happy about it at first, but then he decided it was funny. I think its funny for sure! I've always liked pigs in a blanket!
Hee, hee! That's a great picture. It seems to me that Papa has some kind of obsession with this kind of activity. I remember him doing that to his sister on multiple occasions...and then laughing at her when she couldn't stand up. It's a wonder she doesn't suffer severely from post-traumatic stress disorder.
ReplyDeleteThis has really dredged up some painful memories. *sniff* I think Auntie Laura needs counselling! :oD
Haha!! That is hilarious. I can't believe they didn't talk about it before you saw the picture! That seems a little low key for a Brian stunt though... are you sure he didn't bungee the kids from the second story using the elastic tie backs? LOL JK Brian. Miss you guys! Thanks for the picture! Titus is getting so big!
