The News

There is MUCH rejoicing in our home today!

We had a picture perfect ultrasound yesterday that showed us exactly what we wanted to see! After about 5-7 minutes of waiting while the technician measured and gathered her data for the doctor, she finally turned the screen our way and deciphered the screen for us. We had, of course, told her that we were VERY interested in finding out the gender of this very active baby. She was able to show us a very detailed picture of the baby's bottom area that had a LACK of external features! NO BOY PARTS! NO THIRD LEG! Just two sweet little buns and some girly parts! Sophie is ecstatic! She finally gets someone to share her room with!

It was such a fun time watching the movements of the baby on the screen as I could feel the kicks and bumps. At one point we were able to watch the baby play with one of her feet with the opposing hand. So amazing. The technician was having such fun that she did a 3-D ultrasound "just for fun" because she said the position that the baby was in was perfect for it. As it turned out the placenta was a little bit in the way so she couldn't get a clear shot of her face, but you can still make out her eyes, nose and part of her mouth. Several of the other pictures that we got show very clearly the baby's profile along with her arm and hand up to her face. My favorite shows her mouth slightly open and you can see where her little baby lips are...so cute.
Today, already, the children have discussed baby names at least 3 or 4 times! They are all thrilled to be having a baby sister. Of course, Titus has NO CLUE about what he's in for, but soon enough he'll understand.

Now we get to get prepare for a new little lady to be a part of our home. Sophia is already thinking about the fun things that she wants to do in her bedroom to make it into "The Girl's Room". I have kept almost all of Sophie's baby clothes and I have several people who are anxious to give us lots of girly clothes. I'm so glad that we'll be able to use the wonderful clothes that the Lord blessed us with for Sophie.

Now if we could just decide on a name!

  1. WOO HOO! We are so excited for you! What a special blessing! I'm so glad that you didn't send me Sophie's baby clothes! And on that note, make sure you're not sharing and giving away any of the boys' clothes either...you may need them in 3 years! How exciting! We hope we get another baby girl in... like....5 years. LOL Seriously.
