Changing Seasons
It looks like Fall is upon us around here. The weather has been so nice and cool. The leaves haven't really started changing yet, but here and there we see some hints of color that remind us of what's sure to come.
Things have been going great guns around here ever since August. We had some Grandparentage visit for a week at the end of August, then we went up to Chicago for Labor Day to visit our cousins. After returning from Chicago, I hit the ground at full speed ahead to finish preparing for our Ladies Conference at church. (Which turned out great, btw) Then the following week we had a visit from Auntie Doria, who left today and we are still crying... waaaaaah!
These past weeks have been sooo full of activity, but soooo full of blessings and wonderful times. Now our schedule has cleared a little and we're all set to enjoy a rut of routine.
My little fella Titus is on the road to mobility! I always have mixed feelings about when my babies turn into "walkers". It's so cute to watch them stumble around like a drunken sailor (pardon the comparison). On the other hand... Ah! Now it's even harder to keep up with them! Toddling here
and toddling there,
oh how I'd like
to tie you to a chair!
I'm sure you understand that I mean that in the most loving and motherly way! :)
Titus has also begun that hilarious and puzzling stage of trying to speak. Sometimes we think maybe he's part Chinese or something. He will say a whole string of "words" and then look at you like, "What's the problem? Don't you understand me?" The funniest part is that he doesn't just rattle off his gibberish, but he does it with feeeeling and often hand motions to help communicate his point. Sometimes he will even say things lounder...just in case we didn't hear it the first time.
He does, however, say one word LOUD AND CLEAR. That word is "Mama". HURRRAY! The funny thing about that is that he also calls Brian, "Mama". Oh there's no mistake about it. He crawls right over to him saying "Mama, mama, mama" all the way over to Brian. Brian has said that this will be the one and only time that it's okay for Titus to be a "Mama's Boy", when he's referring to Brian. :) such funny times.

I totally agree about the mixed feelings when babies start walking, only thing is, I don't think mine are mixed at all, I don't like it! There is nothing harder than having a one-year-old, I've always said that and I still mean it! I was helping watch one the other day, boy...that can be difficult, they are everywhere! I though of you and Titus, they are almost exactly the same age, although this lil booger is walking everywhere. I prefer it when they wait a reaaallly long time to learn to walk, like, uh, Kindergarten. JK Once they hit 2, at least they speak (understand , haha) English. They may get into stuff, but you can inform them of the impending consequences. Not so for 1. I love it that he calls Brian Mama. I can just see him kicked back on the sofa saying, "D-a-d-d-y, Titus, Daaaaaddy." LOL
