Lightening, Zoom Errors, & a Fort
In case you're wondering, the reason I haven't been posting here is because we had a little computer problem. We had a thunder & lightening storm and blam-o, it struck us. Not through our electrical lines, but it came through our phone line. The result of that is that it destroyed our Network card, modem and our printer (because it is also our fax, therefore it is hooked up to the phone line). We had Jerry* , a friend come and work his computer way with it. He was able to replace the network card, and we got a new modem from the phone company, but the printer is just plain dead. It is so amazing how much we have come to depend on the computer! Scary. (*name changed to protect his identity)
Terror of terrors, my camera is being dysfunctional! The lens is stuck in the open position and my LCD reads "Zoom Error". I don't know what happened, but I am going to take it to the camera doctor to see what the problem is. waaaaaa, I'm crying!
What I'm most sad about is that I can't post pictures of the fort that Brian built in our backyard! It is so GREAT! It puts all the playsets, swing sets, and forts that are for sale (for waaaay too much money) TO SHAME!! I'll try to describe it very vividly, so put on your thinking cap!
It has a 2 level tower. The first level is at 3 feet, the second level is at 8 feet and the top of it stands to about 11 feet. There is a 16 ft. beam off to the right side that has 2 swings attached to it and then it will have a 2 person glider swing (in progress). Off to the left side of the tower there is a rock climbing wall that you can climb up to the 2nd level where there is an opening on the side. The ladder is on the inside to get up top and has a hatch that closes (not on a hinge because that would be dangerous for smashing fingers). We are searching for a slide, but that may take a while, they're expensive! We saw one the other day, a 14 ft. slide for $330!!!! No WAY, we'll keep looking!
The children have been playing and playing and playing on it. It is so fun! Brian and I also have been swinging a few times! It is a VERY cool playset, according to the kids and we're happy with it too! After I get the camera fixed, I'll post some pics.

That fort sounds really fun - it's amazing how many things we can do with our own hands for a LOT less money!!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing those pics of that playset!! That sounds awesome! Dan has reaaalllly been missing playing games with you guys lately, he's been searching for a couple to play with that are like you guys, and well, we just can't find any! We've been playing Empire Builder lately and he reminisces about going over to your house so late and stayig the night as a family....oh so sad that we can't do that anymore! I think he may not recover! :) We'll keep searching for a fun and available family to play games with....as we TRY to look past all of the ways they fall short in comp. to you guys. Sniff sniff...
