MAMA, BE BRAVE!
Are you wondering why I'm saying that?! Well, Of course you know I'm going to tell you!
Last year, when Brian was flying back and forth to Dayton before we moved here he volunteered to be bumped from a flight and received a free ticket. Hurray! Free tickets are always good, right?! So here we are a year later and his ticket is about to expire. How could he let a FREE ticket expire? Good question. The next question is...Where does he need to go? Where does he want to go, alone because the other 5 of us don't have free tickets? He tossed around several ideas... Fly to Yellowstone National Park (of course! we all know he LOVES Yellowstone), but then he'd have to rent a car and pay to stay somewhere and eat, and how much fun would Yellowstone be without me, his lovely wife? He could fly to Atlanta and spend time at the Chick-fil-a home office...been there, done that. He could fly to Pensacola and check on our house there and visit old friends...oh, we sold the house, nevermind that idea! Finally, he decided that he'd like to fly to Grants Pass, Oregon and visit his Grandma. So sweet, such a nice boy. He hasn't seen his Grammy in almost 6 years and neither of them are getting any younger, so a visit would be a good thing! Then he decided that he'd like to take Titus along so she could see him for the first time. That would work great because he's young enough that he flies for free as a "lap child". What a great plan! He was able to arrange to get a flight into Medford, Oregon, which is nearby. He flies out of the Dayton airport on Saturday morning, April 22nd, and will come back on Monday evening, April 24th. The Hayden Sr's are visiting at this time so they'll be able to pick him up at the airport and also see Brian & baby.
Brian does a fine job with taking care of Titus here at home and Titus is a mild mannered, joyful baby. I know that they'll both do fine on the airplanes and in the airports, and 3,000 miles away from home, without me. Gulp. They'll do fine, right? I'll be fine, right. I can't believe I agreed to this!! WHAT WAS I THINKING!! (just kidding) I'm really okay with this. Do you believe me? It's not that I think they can't handle each other or the trip. It's just me, the Mama, leaving her BABY!! I'll probably be the one who does the most crying while there away and not the baby. Ha, ha!
I am planning to absorb myself in some long awaited projects so perhaps I'll distract myself enough. Of course, It's not like I'll be alone, I'll have the older crew to keep things lively! We do have a trip to the park planned for Monday and church on Sunday, so we'll just be busy together and have a nice time also. Who knows, I may actually enjoy this...?

  1. Whoa! You ARE brave! What about nursing him?? Is he weaned? I hope he won't cry too much because he misses you. Brian may be biting off more than he can chew, but I know how much he loves a challenge! :) Keep us posted on how you're holding up!! Also, by the time I got home from church and thought to take a picture of me IN the dress....I was all haggered and fellowshipped out. :) I don't want how I look after a 13 hour day at church ti be how you see me in my new dress! So perhaps I'll have Joy take my picture in it today when we shop for material. It really looks cute on...considering the dress and it's owner are plus size! LOL I really should take more pictures of myself....
