Can you believe it? We ate the whole loaf of bread in one day! We are still in shock around here. Everyone is a little leary of my next attempt for fear that it will be back to the norm. Will the next one be boat anchor or bread? hmm.
So, now that I've posted about bread, I suppose I should share the recipe. Okay, here it is...
Wheat Bread with Flax Seed
Yields: 10 servings
INGREDIENTS:
1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
3/4 cup ground flax seed
1 cup bread flour
1 tablespoon vital wheat gluten
2 tablespoons dry milk powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/4 cup honey
1 1/2 cups water
DIRECTIONS:
1. Place ingredients in the pan of the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select dough cycle; press Start.
2. When dough cycle is complete, remove from machine pan. Shape into loaf.
3. Let rise until doubled in a warm place.
4. Bake at 425* for 30 minutes or until hollow sounding when tapped and nicely browned.
I will be attempting it again tomorrow...
